Hi folks, need some advice on how to fix a problem I'm having with my system at the minute.
When set up after about 5 mins into a house the water flow will start spluttering a lot with air bubbles in the flow, this could last anything up to a couple of mins which is a right pain as you can't clean or rinse till it has cleared itself.
Usually after clearing itself, it won't do it again for the rest of that clean but after moving and setting up at another house it's the same scenario over again.
Anyone any idea what's the cause or how to solve it?

Sounds like you've got a loose hose somewhere to me.
Perhaps the strainer (if you've got one) on your pump is a bit loose? Or full?
Have you got any leaks? If water can get out, air can get in.
Have you tried putting your pump on full and recirculating back into the tank for an hour or so? It may just need a good run? It'll alone show you if you've any leaks.

I'd guess you've got air getting in through some connection. Check them all that they are tight. Are you moving about with a low level of water in the tank with pump running? Sometimes if the pump is running while moving the van with a low water level, air can get into the pump.

i had it from connecting my hose reel to an external van port.

if i switch on my pump and let the small hose from the port fill before connecting to the hose reel, it seems to cure it.

Thanks for all the help lads, will give the van a bit of scrutiny the night to get to the bottom of it, have a drip at the connection at the back of the van so take it that's the problem!

Another probable cause is that when your tank has ran low and you have got a airlock in hose  , Despite you filling your for your next days work that airlock will obviously still be their .

Disconnect your hose which runs from pump to hose reel from your hose reel and run pump a lot higher than normal to flush out airlock then use as normal .

If you are still getting the problem then if you have plastic hozelock fittings you have used for a while they become worn and allow air into system so check your hozelock connections  and change if needed .

I only use the plastic hozelock connections from Gardiners mine have lasted over 2 years . Mike

Is it when yoy move the van?lay flat tank?
If your water is low and you drive about air is being drawn in from the tank into the pump (air lock)
Fit a non return valve on your tank to solve

Changed the external fitting where I plug my reel into and it seems to have done the trick!

the end stop on the connector was probably letting air back into the hose behind it which then was coming spluttering out.
