Real Time Weather...
« on: December 23, 2013, 11:01:49 am »
This is very good, if I'm allowed to post the link:

http://earth.nullschool.net/#current/wind/isobaric/1000hPa/orthographic=358.80,47.68,881

It's real time wind speed, direction and intensity that's pretty cool because I've never understood what cyclone / anti-cyclone mean in this context.

It seems to suggest it's windy today !

I find using my eyes & hearing work for me if I want to know what the weather is doing in real time.

Met office local is not far wrong most of the time though.

This website gives you satellite imagery of the last 2: 3/4 hours, with an indication in depth of colour as to the rate of precipitation.

I looked out the window and it's so dark and wet I can't see what actually's happening - except that it's dark and wet...  ;D

if you spin the globe on that website it looks like we've got just about the windiest weather on the planet atm right now in the atlantic approaches. Alright theres something developing out in the Pacific off the coast of Japan and Russia, but sods law innit. I wonder if it'll affect Father Christmas delivering.

Yes indeed. Apparently they're going to introduce a 100% accurate forecast system called +1...it tells you what the weather was doing an hour ago.
