May think about this for next year my first priority is to put a tank in vehicle first always used trolleys and backpacks, bit confused about the pricing for these hot water systems saw Corwoods I think selling them for 180 quid but then I've seen heaters selling for 2K on the WCW site what's all that about?

rah i installed my corwoods heater last weekend and have been using  hot for 3 days now.i love it!had water up to 45 degrees today and it defo cuts through the dirt easier!(snail trails, birdmuck etc)hoses are a LOT easier to manage.

im converted!! :D ;D

i had a few teething problems as you re probably aware but ive ironed them out.

brodex are selling the same gas heater as mine for £600 including VAT so a £420 mark up on my £180 corwoods heater. ::)roll

pro poler the 2 grand plus heaters are run on diesel not lpg.

Basically there are 2 types, diesel powered and gas powered.

Diesel ones use a webasto type heater, take diesel from the vehicle's fuel tank (so no gas bottles) and are generally easier to operate so I understand.  They cost about £2,000 to £3,000 ish.

But if you're poor you have to use what is basically a camping shower that uses propane gas bottles and needs a flue to let the gases out or can only be used if bungied onto the back doors with them left open etc etc.

Still not sure about the legality/insurance issue of driving around with gas bottles connected up etc, but those who use it always have a next door neighbor who is a driving-around-with-gas-bottles-expert-who-advises-the-united-nations-on-what-is-legal or a qualified-motor-vehicle-insurance-and-gas-engineer-who-knows-everything-about-it or another person who is the highest expert in europe.  In other words camping shower users want want it to be legal so it is.

Failing that, if your REALLY poor (I'm talking breadline here) then you just use cold water like me.

not quite true, you can buy a lpg system with fitted tank underneath van and with fan assisted flue from concept 2 o. I highly recommend their systems for economy and ease of use.

I realise you're being flippant but...
Nothing to do with poor.
I'm not poor and wouldn't want the diesel, more than happy with the Corwoods heater like a lot on here have got.
Cant see how diesel is easier-other than having to get bottles changed...
As for insurance, I asked mine ( Ageas) what the crack was.
They said (not next door neighbour etc...) it's fine to have the gas on board as long as it's secured. Mine is, with a 15,000kg ratchet strap (like a curtain sider lorry).
As for legal-how do you think LPG cars run?

Me.

I told them exactly what I had, the size of the bottle, the heater, the reason for it-everything.
My Mrs used to work in insurance, she said:
A lot of the time, they just want it written down on your file.
If you have something missing it's the excuse to refuse a claim in the event of an accident.
Just because you tell them something doesn't mean they will penalise your premium

Daz, I managed to get the LPG from the ebay person i bought the natural gas heater with, they charged me £37 as it's more expensive.

Are you running ON demand or Heating the tank ?

Pete I wouldn't say if you are poor you need a shower rather than the diesel !!!!

I'd say more sensible as they both do the se thing and that's to get hot water and at the fraction of a deisel heater

I say no more 😜

rah it heats water on demand so i start the day with a cold tank of pure.turn pump on,turn gas on and flick the switch at bottom of heater.within 10 mins i have a warm hose reel and pole.

its pretty chilly here this morning and a busy day ahead so i return the hose to tank for the first 10 mins until everything is nice and warm then go about my work.

its great to have supple hoses! :D

im never going back to cold water in the winter months now!! :)

Lots of poor people need showers - I've smelt them in Tescos.

Guess I can look forward to all your teething problems ;) Mind, I have read all your post since purchase, so hopefully we can have a smooth run, but I also got to install a pump controller, never used 1 in 10 yrs, so another headache to look forward to :)
