Also many of the problems highlighted are for using it "on demand" in a domestic situation

What does '27% of units fail in the first year'? How can an Merlin RO system fail? Does he mean TDS, or leaks, or the RO falls apart or what?

They are completely non specific comments that are not backed up by anything other than the blokes opinion.

I've just changed the filters on mine as the tds was up around the 40 mark. The last set I bought was June 2012.
