I'm trying to transfer my copy of WCP to a netbook, because every time i upgrade my laptop wcp suddenly comes up with a "serial number invalid" error.

The only problem is, I get an error message every time I try to create a backup of my data file!! Is there any way to transfer the data direct without using a backup file?

If you contact Brad, he'll give you a new serial number then you should be able to work from your back up.

The big issue is not being able to do a backup!

If you look in the WCP folder I think you'll see another folder called "db". I vaguely remember copying this folder to a new WCP installation and being able to access everything no problem.

BTW try running WCP in a Windows virtual machine. That way when you upgrade your laptop you just need to copy the VM across and there are no issues with serials, etc.

Great idea about the VM Craig,.. it hadn't even occurred to me!! Where were you last week BEFORE i spent my hard earned dosh on a dedicated netbook for WCP!!!
