Come on Steve, wake up. How long do you think it would take to train one of us up to scrub a solar panel? Honestly?
An hour maybe? Probably less.
You're not trained to clean one either - so how can you criticize everyone else?
Well done with your business but don't come on this forum and think you are all superior like some do, you are no different to anyone else. You've simply pushed your business in a place where many don't want to go.
If that's what you want then good for you.
You haven't got many replies because for most of us, it simply doesn't interest us. I wouldn't go to a window cleaning show let alone a renewable energy lecture. If you want more replies then a small business forum rather than a windowcleaners forum might give you more.
You did say in your original post you wouldn't think it would interest many on here
Always good to talk things through Dave.

How long do I think it would take? Not long at all. But it is not about scrubbing a panel, it's about H&S, risk assessments, marketing, the pitch, the future of the market. I have said many, many times on here that ANYONE can clean a panel, even my granny if if gave her an Extreme!

But IMO, there is more to THE CLEAN.
I am not trained and do not claim to be. I do think however, that I should be and I should have some sort of qualification before I deal with something that carries a higher risk than window cleaning. If there was a course, I would be first on it because I know there should be some sort of standard to meet. Cherry pickers are not difficult at all to operate, the moving them around is not hard, but IPAF licences are required due to the potential risk. Personally, I feel solar is the same.
You say I have pushed my business where many don't want to go, but I bet that if you polled the window cleaners with a website and asked what service/webpage they have most recently added, I bet it is solar panel cleaning. This indicates it is a place where many want to push their business.
For the above reason, a cleaning forum is the best place for me to post because that is where the most potential is for solar panel CLEANING.
I did say I didn't expect it to get much response, but it is interesting how people who are not interested still respond. I only respond to threads I'm interested in, but maybe that's just me...
