I know from your posts you have a fleet of landy's.
I am starting to look for a new work vehicle and am thinking towards getting a defender 110 panel van. It would be dual purpose for work and weekends away.
I would be looking to maximize the space in the back by getting a low level baffled tank made ideally to be no taller than the boxed wheel arches/bench seats so a long oblong tank to fit between these the length of the rear floor. With your experience would you have any idea approx how many liters such a tank may hold ?
Its early days and have not been to view any yet and measure the space.
Many thanks
Simon

We fit 6 of these in the back of our 110s (6x75=450l):

They were actually designed by Wydale specifically for us. The tanks are brilliant. Because there are 6 of them plumbed together there is no need for baffles. The weight is distributed very evenly and the centre of gravity is very low. You literally can't tell you are carrying best part of 1/2 a tonne of water.

They are an inch or 2 higher than the tub but we use the space on top of the tub as a hatch to keep filters/squeegees and for the roller system for our hose trays. If you were to fit these in a 110 hard top you could easily make some kind of storage box in the space above the wheels.

Soupy, that's brilliant, thanks very much,
certainly given me some ideas, I may still go with a bespoke baffled tank (in case I decide to keep the height flush with the sides plus it gives me the option of having fittings where I want) but at least I have something to compare the price to, sounds like I could create space for 400 liters. Yep a hard top, will be dual purpose with the idea for the vehicle to have space to be an overnight sleeper for mountain bike trips away etc
cheers
