propane or butane
« on: August 17, 2013, 02:00:35 pm »
Trying to find a local gas bottle supplier and the one nearest only does butane (green bottles ) but i believe this freezes or  looses pressure when it gets near zero.
I am best staying with propane

cheers

no, propane is nearly always in a red one,
butane is normally in the blue,

its not the case of being the wrong one, just that propane is better for using in cold/freezing weather

Propane all the way!

I've tryed both and propane burns cleaner
And better for the heater to run with no upset
keep it simple

Propane’s lower boiling point suits outdoor storage and is primarily used for central heating, cooking and numerous commercial applications. Butane, which doesn’t work in colder conditions, is best used indoors and is perfect for powering indoor portable heaters.
