Grout colourant
« on: July 26, 2013, 10:19:33 am »
I have tried the grout recolouring on 2 separate jobs of a cream waterproof grout. I used light grey and it looks like a blue shade in it. Its the aqua seal one, Am I doing something wrong?

Not that I am aware!  However, I am a little confused!  What do you mean? "Cream Waterproof Grout"  is it epoxy?  What did you clean it with first?  Can you talk me through it?  I will pass this on to Ian as well for his comments!

Yes epoxy grout, it was cleaned with zip strip from clover and then rinsed with water. One was trialled after a couple of hours of cleaning and the other was a couple of weeks.

Daft questions but don't be offended:

Did you apply it too thinly?
Did you shake the bottle well?

I have spoken to Ian and there have been no reports of problems with this product

I did on the first trial shake it well and if anything I thought the blue was coming from over application of the product.
The second was applied much more sparingly and the same result. Il try it on a non epoxy grout later and let u know how that goes

An update, got a trial on a non epoxy grout and shook the bottle really well and it looks alrite, possibly I hadn't shaken the bottle well enough.

Great news I will pass it on to Ian.  I know he has been making the manufacturers check the tinting process but despite checking both batch numbers of your colour we could find nothing wrong.  So your news is confirmation that all is OK.
I just want you to know that Tiling Logistics take all complaints of products we import and sell very seriously and we do fully investigate any potential problems.
