Sorry to hear that. Batteries earn £5-10 as scrap value depending in size! A mate of mine does scrap and batteries are one of he's best earners behind copper so id imagine they are sort after in the scrap world.
Prob pikeys feeling they have to steel and make someone elses life a little harder to earn there way The dirty thieving Bumhole scum they are!!!.
Why not run straight from van battery instead? Thats what i do and have done the last 2 years with no problems. No need for extra batteries then especally as you would need to go and spend £50 plus on them.

The thieves should be thrown in a cell.

Informing the Police will be a waste of time, all they'll do is charge them.

Sorry to hear about your loss. It is indeed shocking.

Perhaps the thieves were a pair of live wires who volted the fence and realised they had the opportunity of an ampule haul? I may be con-fused but I'm lead to believe that if they were acid-uously casing the joint then watts to stop them charging in when you weren't there?

Distilling the story down to it's basics I hope they do end up being charged and put in a cell but I'm pretty negative about the chances of that as the Police will not be positive about who did it and all you will be left with is that zinc-ing feeling of knowing that any case against them would be discharged.

If they had hit you and stolen them you might have had grounds to get them on an assault and battery charge.  What on Earth is this world coming to? The spark of humanity seems to have gone from it.

It's a game of three halves!
