problems with clutch on my car under warranty hopefully. garage cant do anything till Tuesday so probably lose work for a few days. they have loaned me a car but no roof rack for ladders.
what options do I have can I rent a van and claim it back any help would be grateful.

You can get temperory roof racks from Argos, the blow up kind. Might do for a few days.

I wouldn't do this as the courtesy car's insurance won't cover anything like this.
To the OP, you can claim rental costs of a van from tax; it is an expense to run your business. I would claim all the costs as you have a courtesy car from the garage for private use whilst yours in being repaired.

id buy a ford focus saloon if i was stuck for over a week. they are cheap in comparison(£500 touch or thereabouts) cheaper compared to buying a reliable van and also pretty much bombproof cos nobody want them being a saloon,but they take ladders easily

A good reason why having a trolley system on standby is a good idea. You can operate WFP out of an old crate of a van for a week or two.

I have a little triple ladder that fits in the back of the car, for days when the van is in for repair/mot etc
Yes, it means going back to trad, but at least your still out there earning some tokens...
... or just take the day off
