Anyone run a mk7 transit, any feedback on what they are like, economy, reliability ect?

I'm looking to change from my connect as I need 3 seats. I like the vivaros, but all I read about on the net is injector problems and the injectors get seized in the head and problems culminating from that.

ive got a 57 plate, had it for 2 and a half years and its fantastic mate, i get roughly high 20's mpg fully loaded most of the time, i went for the swb med roof one so i have some head room in the back, can get 3 comfortably in the front or the main selling point for me was myself and two kids seats. Cant fault it, i have it on a ford service plan and its had the odd thing go wrong at the mot time but nothing major.

Thanks ste, are they big enough to fit a ladder inside, or am I being optimistic?

swb? no mate unless its a small ladder, i just throw mine on the roof, got some smaller ones that i use as well that fit inside

I have a MWB 330 low roof 09 plate, and carry upto 100 gallons of water so heavy most of the time.. I average 39 mpg, although I very rarely go over 60...

Had it 9 months and so far been very happy with it, although there are a few small spots of rust showing already..

I have a 10 plate 280 SWB limited, it has been a superb van, I don't really pay much attention to the MPG, I fill it up, I get hassle free motoring and when it's near empty I fill it up again. The good thing about the limited version is that it comes with  vinyl floor covered loading space as standard.

I have 2012 Swb 280 limited great van Air con heated seat !! I get about 28-32 mpg with 500ltr tank and all my gear.

Only have 2 issue

 1)slight hesitation at about 1500rpm ford have now done some sort of Ecu download

 2) charging a leisure battery can be a pain I have been told they have some sort of smart battery charging system which means the alternator doesn't always put out enough power to charge the leisure battery.

Hi lee i have just had a transit 2010 t280 125ps trend gun metal Gray . i have been getting 35.7mpg round town and it pulls like a train i did have a vivaro before hand the 2.7t 2.0cdti 115ps swb and by god the transit will pee all over the vivaro. plus being the trend model its got all the gizmo's the only thing it will not do is drive its self

All good reviews that's nice to hear  , usually with vans there are more nightmare stories than positive ones.

the indeed are a good van, you wont fit a ladder inside.

things i noticed and well known things.

The started motor always goes
mine blew up because the oil filer cap broke and starved the engine of oil ( freak accident)
loads of room inside
very nice and fast drive
they rust like hell like all transits
they are easy for mechanics to work on
the look nice
