when posting or editing a message the strike through button, the change colour etc none of it is working  smilies still work though 

so anyone else noticed this?

I no know what you mean. You just have to move back and type between the brackets.

when i highlight something then click on the appropriate icon its throwing both sets of brackets to the right of the highlighted area instead of brackets either side as normal...something is wrong its either my craptop or something else, but most definately not user error.

Move your cursor (?) back between the brackets when it does it.

You probably need to change the ink ribbon.
