It would be easier to get a 12 volt regulator if you want to run on a 24v system.

What type of system are you looking to run? There are controls that will run with 24V Batteries and pumps on the whole the majority of these systems are used in The Netherlands and Germany for Solar panel cleans.

Hi ian and rc property.

This is a long shot and im asking on here because it simular to my wfp setup.
Im after a 24 v system because im putting a shower and sink in my motorhome conversion.this will go through a gas water heater like an l5 or something like lee pryor has used.
I am asking for a 24 v controller and pump etc because it will run of a bank of 24 v batteries.
Any help i get on here will benefit others aswell im sure.
Some people use 24v systems on 4x4s so i thought i check on here for my fellow window cleaners advice.

Hi Richard and Cliff

Yes we do produce a 24V control panel, this currently is used in the Netherlands and Europe.

Not sure how much advise I can give re motor home conversions and the kit required to run a shower. Could you not achieve the same thing with a relay? or Micro switch?

I have heard of instances where our 12V controllers have been used in motor homes as I understood it they were used in place of a micro switch.

Having spoken with people within the trade they virtually all use a micro switch

Cheers

In my understanding a 24 volt system on lorries are 2 12v batteries linked together in series.

I'm sure this must be the case with your application. If so, why not just connect your 12v controller and pump to one of the 12 volt batteries?

Two batteries connected in series will provide double the voltage of each individual battery, and provide the same current as either battery. Two batteries in a parallel configuration will provide the same voltage as either battery, but twice the current.

Do you know the current draw of the pump? current draw across the control is a factor more so that the voltage.

How do you see the control working? would it DE as the tap is turned off? Will it need to switch the power to the pump? or would you use a micro switch to power both? Does it need to measure water temp or will you use a manual mixer tap to control shower head water temp?

The more info you can provide the easier the solution

Cheers

Hi ian
I have an ex council library bus that has a bank of 2v batteries that add up to 24v in total 12 batteries that are charged up by a 24 v charger and store power.
Leisure batterys.
I want to be able to open the tap and then the pump will kick in and pump water and turn of when i close tap.
I have normal house taps ive installed.
Thinking of getting a gas heater to supply hot water not sure on how to install yet.
If i can do this with a micro switch i will.whatever a micro swith is lol.
To be honest i want to do the most easiest and cheapest that gets the results i want.
Cheers cliff ;)

as long as the pump has a pressure switch you can use an anolog controler to control the flow, they are your cheapest bet, you could either make you own or i can make one.

what gas heater are you going for??

Any links to any switches etc would be helpfull, any other gas heaters etc.
I was just going to get a shurflo 24 v on ebay with a pressure switch.

Still none the wiser in which order to set it all up yet so if any1 has any diagrams i would appreciate it.

Its a motorhome/mobile office advertisement tool  ;)

Hi Cliff

I am going to email you and answer this in more detail. In short you are looking at two controls one for each pump.

Pump is activated when the water tap is turned on. Us I see it you do not need a controller to show water temp as you are using the boiler to heat and a mixer tap to control water temp at the shower.

You may want to consider an isolator switch so the pumps can be disconnected form power when water is not required or you could simply switch off the controllers which would have the same effect.

Hi ian
How would i put a on off switch onto a water pump thats wired to batteries.
Would i simply cut into the live between pump and battery and run a live to a switch
And do the same with the neutral lead ?

Hi Cliff

Yes as far as I know the Micro switch breaks into the live between the Pump and Battery. It is not my area of Knowledge and you may be better consulting an Auto electrician.

For what you are looking to achieve on the motor home a Micro switch would do the Job

Cheers
