Considering the amount and type of debris that goes through the poles, how long do carbon ones last?
The pen is mightier than the sword (and a lot easier to write with!)

I brought a 3000 watt gutter vac like this one:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Gutter-Vac-/171025509648?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item27d1ea2d10

It was great for most gutters but would not pick up pine needles and i had storage problems at the time so sold it,it was also quite heavy at times but emptied gutters in half the time, but would be interested in the lighter one if it was higher power.

Ben I have the same vac, earned me thousands over the years, had one job with needles and the same happened with us, we just put are hands up and couldn't complete the job (job in ferndown)
