Hi folks cc about a year now and going ok. My question is about equipment. I only use hwe and sometimes really worry about drying times. This has stopped me going to hotels etc. I know at hotels etc that the drying times have to be quick. Do i need a bonnet machine before i contact hotels etc? I have 1 turbo dryer do i need more? Any advice would be great

a rotory would help, and you can pick one up on ebay for £200-£300 on ebay, I think every carpet cleaner should have a rotory, they are so useful and cheap

Rotary's are great for agitation, which can reduce the amount of rinsing you will need to do and post bonnet will certainly reduce drying times. You might want to look at low moisture cleaning (LM) with either a bonnet using microsplitters or Nemisis MPower etc, or encap. It's been  discuused a lot so just do a search. Good wand technique and making sure you machine is in tip top condition will also help.

Thanks Mick and Simon. Is there certain carpets dat u wud prefer a bonnet than hwe anyway like a wool carpet for example. I find wool carpets really annoying at times cause of how much moisture they hold and the smell when drying at times a bonnet would be handy on them.

I would be very wary about using a rotary on a wool carpet, i would not go near one with a bonnet personally.

I wished i had bought a rotary sooner tbh i can remember a few commercials in my early days that could of done with a post bonnet.

Depends on the job, for small to medium sized jobs i will use hwe, if they are low profile carpet tiles i wil always bonnet after hwe (post bonnet). On some jobs i will bonnet only, if can get away with it, ie large lightly used offices to save time. If you ever get a really dirty low profile carpet/tile, i would vac it till death then prespray and agitate with rotary with a red pad or soft brush then after hwe i would post bonnet and place air movers to prevent wick back. When you mention hotels, most hotels tend to have domestic type carpets anyway so you will probably be fine with just hwe, but a rotary is a must long term if you want to carry out more commercial jobs in my opinion.

Most of my carpet cleaning work is bonnet cleaning in some sort or another! I tend to use Encap these days but have used Dry-fusion and other products in the past! If you are cleaning wool carpets I would tend to go for a chemical such as the dry fusion Activater or solutions Fusion Clean as they have a lubricant in them and if you haven't tons of experience with bonnet cleaning, these solutions can be a bit more forgiving on wool carpets, As the last thing you want is swirl marks that are impossable to remove

Depends which part of the hotel you are doing.

If it's a bedroom then these are usualy not allocated for 24 hours post clean anyway-more than enough time for them to dry naturally assuming you don't overwet them. So need to leave blowers behind or having to hand around whilst they dry.

Actually I'v just picked up a Victor 300 sprite for a song , I want to use it for agitation and drying.
It's got a 12 inch deck board, can anyone tell me the best and correct fitting pads for this machine?
