Anybody used a Sabrina maxi??
« on: March 28, 2013, 07:10:21 pm »
Has anybody used a Sabrina maxi?? If so can I have your views on it? I know it's only single vac but the reviews I have heard have been very positive, plus it has the advantage of splitting in 2 for flats/apartments etc.
Any views appreciated.

Im sure its fine , but such a basic machine , little value for your money imo.

You could have this for the same price , which is also basic but at least its a twinvac with good tank capacity , couple with an inline heater and it should be quite usefull

If you need an extra small machine the alltec express/airflex mini , twinvac with heat are the best value .

Yes I've had a couple and can highly recommend them . I keep one handy in the van as a back up to my scorpion and they are ideal for the occasional job where I have a third storey flat to do with no lift . Can easily be carried up a flight of stairs in one hand and for a single vac machine can still do a fairly decent job .

Recently got the newer model which is a bit more heavy duty and has the socket for an inline heater.

Simon,
Are they capable of doing say 3 bedrooms, HSL, or more suited to single rooms?

Steve they are a decent spotter/ spill mop up machine. For day to day extraction cleaning of multi rooms you will struggle, it will do the job but it will just take you a lot longer than it would with a full size machine.

Cheers Paul,
I have got a twinvac, it's just I have heard alot of good things about the maxi, especially the fact that it splits in 2 so can easily be taken up flights of stairs. I do only do it part time at present but still do multiple rooms the majority of the time.

As Paul says they can take longer to do a job as you will be emptying and filling more and under normal circumstances I prefer to use my scorpion for a whole house , but I do occasionally use it on large house size flats . For example I do the odd job in a busy town centre, above shops where there is hardly any room to lug up the big machine and no space to leave outside out run up hoses.
There is also the added benefit that you can put the hoses and tools etc in a large bag if you need to quickly unload and move the van. Therefore making less trips up and down to the van. When using a big machine in this situation the loading and unloading can take forever.

Cheers Simon,
Although it may take longer do you think the same results can be achieved with a maxi as to using a twinvac??
Thanks for ur advise

Yes I normally find that you can but with just one vac you do need to make more dry passes with the wand and make sure you have agitated the pre spray first with at least a pile brush.
The great thing about the newer model is that it has a 135 psi pump . In theory many might say that would leave the carpets very wet with only a single vac ,but I have never found this to be the case and have never had any complaints .

I think that the majority of people that have had better machines would not go back. When I started of I was using machines that I would not class as proffessional machines . I know better now and my customers have a higher expectation. A single vac machine is under powered.
