What battery?
« on: March 23, 2013, 02:34:49 pm »
For those of you that have a 5kw diesel heater, what battery do you have to power it.

Mines not on a split relay charge as I do very little distance and lots of stop starting through the day.

I can only get about 3 hours use out of mine being run through a leisure battery before it dies.

Any advice welcome.

we are slowley changing over to fork lift truck batteries from leisure batterys. batteries are an absolute bug bare for me.

fork lift truck batteries are awsome, but expensive to buy.

I know this issue keeps coming up, but if your heater keeps switching on and off as its producing more heat than you are using, then you need to look at ways of correcting that.

A Webasto 5kw Thermotop C will use about 12 - 15 amps in short duration to fire the boiler up and then when fired up will use about 2.5amps.

We're running thermo pure with Webasto 90s
Battery only seems to last a year and then doesn't hold it's charge, can only run newer for about 15mins then switches off due to lack of power.
Can anyone recommend a good battery 110amp ?
Thanks
