
That applies to cars not vans. Alfa pointed out that 6% of their fan base wouldn't buy a 156 because they didn't like the styling. The offset front number plate drew the most criticism.
However Fiat also poled an equal portion of the population that liked the new design and would buy one because of it. The figure of likes were about 10%. So as far as Fiat was concerned, they had nothing to worry about. Yes, they didn't want to lose that 6% as customers, but the 10% was what was the most important.
Personally, I quite like the new custom, but that's not everything. It must do the job and have a competitive price tag. If it doesn't fit the bill, there will be something else that will, but not an LDV. I hope they have done something finally about corrosion, although Turkish production doesn't instill much confidence.
I know of a few German companys that sold all their Ford Transits because of the move to Turkey.
