i use a slx25 but was thinking of getting something a bit longer for some jobs, at the same time it would be handy to be able to do solar panels/velux etc. how long a pole would i need for solar panels on your average 2 storey house? and would a slx35 be enough for 4 storey windows?

Depends; on some houses just an 18' pole will suffice as you have to get up on the roof to do the panels. Each job is different and it'll depend on your budget but if you were to go for a 35' pole you'd probably be covering as many bases as is reasonably possible. Anything longer required and it'd probably be better to do the work off a tower. We go out and assess EVERY solar panel job without fail, theyre all different of that theres no doubt.

like said above, for a few of my solar cleans i have to  use a 42ft pole,

i have a 40 ft supermax which i find adequate for solar panel cleaning with the option to extend to 50 ft if i buy a couple of extensions if need be but to be honest im not really bothered about working over 40 ft with a pole.

ive never needed to use more than a 40 footer for solar panel cleaning on roofs of domestic houses.

I will be using a 44 ft extreme on 2,500 ground mounted panels this week.  yes, you read it right! It's a belter. Make some good photos this one.

thanks for all the help, i've just bought a supermax 40' as they're on sale at the moment. it will be nice to have another tool for the armoury, and should soon pay for itself with a few solar panels and high jobs that i would normally turn down.

He was asking about a pole for domestic, but I was highlighting how his investment can be used in other solar jobs too. You are entitled to your opinion of course.
