Cleaned my first Velux windows this week.
« on: March 02, 2013, 09:21:02 am »
Since changing over to WFP I have ended up cleaning the windows above conservatories that I previously left out.

I have not offered or been asked to clean any roof/Velux windows.

I picked up a new customer  this week and I had to.

Only problem,

I have no idea whether they came up any good.

you must be able to see it ??

or are you just concerned that you can not get close enough for a good inspection ??

some of wfp cleaning is faith, some experience and just a touch of luck !

i use the sky's reflection when rinsing to look for any residue - you'll see rippling in the draining water if anything
is still on the serface of the glass.

apart from that a good scrub and rinse will clean them without any issues

Never argue with an idiot, they will only bring you down to their level, and beat you with experience

If they can be cleaned, I clean them, I tell the customer that I won't know how they will dry and I ask for feedback the 2nd time I turn up. I look at it this way, if I can clean them and my competitors can't, then
I will be at a advantage of picking up more work.

price accordingly if you have to use the long pole, they always seem to sheet well, and i angle the brush sideways to get a good rinse, treat them like first clean windows but scrub the bottom of them a lot and let the water soak in before doing them again (they always go green in the bottom corners)

Set the brush on the top of the glass to make sure they
are locked before turning on the water.

Never had a problem with them.

The worst though are the big ones that are used over communal areas on apartment blocks. I have to use a 45' Brodex Pole on these and this is no laughing matter, unless you happen to be watching me get the pole into position!  :o
