Cleaning Tiled Floors
« on: February 23, 2013, 01:49:07 pm »
Ok so i v'e done a couple tiled floors with rotary, wet vac etc now what i was wondering is how you guys with the SX-12 or Whatever clean Hard floors and what Chemicals and process do you follow ???

I was thinking would a Karcher 120bar (1700PSI) run an SX-12 ok and then just connect a wet vac thinking of doing this as a cheap setup for cleaning hard floors.

Any input appreciated Thankyou.

Phil.

You can do this but 1700psi is too high so you would need to be able to adjust the pressure to avoid grout being blown out or damage to some tiles.

You also need a wet vac with an auto pump out as it will be full in around 5-6 minutes.

1700psi can be used but on a soft limestone or sandstone anything above 800psi can damage the surface, this is why I say you are best to go for something adjustable.

A 90litre vac with pump out is around £600. Get one from Numatic or Tilling Logistics.

In my experience a spinner tool is only used some of the time. I would advise buying a good quality rotary machine with a selection of brushes and a wet vac first. Add the spinner later when you have the volume of work to justify speeding up the process.

These tools are intended for truckmounted carpet cleaners to add tile cleaning while in the home without buying lots of equipment. The reality is anyone who has been working on floors not from the carpet cleaning world doesn't use them.

Nope. In my opinion sx is only for pick up and rinse at same time.

You still need agitation to avoid running too high pressure.

If its just a small job scrub / vac / mop / vac is much easier in reality.
