What would you do
« on: February 11, 2013, 10:32:16 pm »
I have £3500 to spend, and im torn on what to do with it

1: Buy a pro fitted system, get 25000 leaflets delivered in the local free paper, and new sign writing done. the rest will be spent on joining the fed of windy's and new p and l insurance.

or

2: Buy pro fitted system, buy a presure washer and whirlaway for driveways and join the fed of windys and get public l insurance, then keep the rest and canvass.

Its hard one for me as tryed leaflets before but the results were not great and not sure whether the preveous company delivered them all

What would you guys do.

what would each of these things bring to your biz ?

are they really needed or just would like to have's?

Pro systems are great but a DIY system works just as well for half the price - different story if you
really have not got the skills to put 4 wires together screw some bits to ply lining and lift a tank into the
back of the van.

Leaflets are good but may take a while for you to get the qty of customers you need - door knock for
quicker results ( less leaflets required - tiem costs you nothing unless your already working flat out.

join the FED ? really ? what will that give you ? - just throwing money away IMO

poles - if you save on the above esp. the FED you can now get the best of the best and still be in budget.

buy what you really need & will use.

i think the rule of thumb is 0.5 to 1.5% return altho this may increase as you can get calls months after
the initial drop.

other than a metal cage ( which can be fabricated at a local engineering shop ) there is not a lot between
DIY and PRO - the latter of couse costs more as they have staff/advertising/directors to pay

1% of 25000 leaflets is 250 new custys!

do you feel that is a good return on the cost of printing and getting them delivered ?
( the rate may be far lower if it's inside the local rag )
Lee pryor may give better info on solo drops and we only solo drop so no other leaflet is delivered with
ours.

hit rate with canvassing is more like 20% return

i would say if its inside the local rag atleast 20% percent of leaflets wont even be seen.
