« on: January 28, 2013, 03:52:15 pm »
My bookeeper has just text me to say I have to pay £332 class 4 ni contributions! This is on top of the £28+ a month I already pay for class 2! Does everyone else pay these too!

Yes I do.

Basically Class 2 is the basic one every s/e person pays at the lower N.I threshold. Class 4 means you're doing well enough to have a percentage taken on top.
It's a game of three halves!

Apparantly everyone with a profit of £7,800 or more has to pay 9% of their profit so I'm sure that means that most on here will be paying it!

Class 2 is £2.65 per week so I don't know where the £28 comes from?

Class 4 is just another stealth tax.
