Have you checked your mains pressure yet richy? You might not need one mate. But either way that pump doesn't pump at a high enough psi to do a decent job, 3.5 bar of pressure if about 50psi. You want at least 80psi mate

You need this one Richy:  http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/cbm240e-1in-multi-stage-230v-booster-pum

I've had one for years, no problems and drives my 40-40 and helps extend membrane life

No probs mate. I'm not 100% about the plumbers, I'm sure bob plum will be along soon and let you know. I got a pressure dial on my streamline RO...does yours not have one on?

Not sure Richy, but if three chaps take enough water for one day (app 300lt each) the tank fills up again before the end of that working day.  The product water flows into the IBC like an open tap ;D

What he said ^^^^

Another way is to stick an hose pipe in yer gob and turn the water on full .................. if your eyes  bulge out and water comes out your ears you have got good pressure.  ;)
I can remember when waking up stiff in the morning was a good thing.

its all well and good saying cheque your psi out of tap but you need to also check flow coming out of the tap how many litres are you getting per 1 min?

I use this pump i have low pressure and low water flow it gets my tds down from 30 without to 18 with it i have it sent about 50/50 pure to waste and it fills my 1000 in about 6 hours

Depends on your incoming water - do you have ordinary hose pipe?  I have 1/2" hose from an outside tap - John Guest 1/2" tube fits snugly inside garden hose, just need a couple of jubilee clips for safety.  Inlet side of pump is via a reducing bush and John Guest push fit.  Outlet is also reducing bush and John Guest to 1/2" tube and then to RO system.

This was how I set it up in the first place, works fine so no need to change anything.

You could have incoming water straight to first prefilter, then 1/2" tubing to pump then to membrane.

I'm not a fan of hozelocks on RO systems, too much pressure and danger of connectors 'popping off'  ;)
