Insurance up end of month .... been with Alexander Swann for a few years but too expensive.

For a £2000 worth of 2005 Combo with DIY system ... full cover on systems and poles ... 2 drivers me with 9 points  and a 25 year old no points .... fully comp with 5 years protected no claims ..... all in at £707  with £250 excess


oh and also includes replacement van and system for any fault claim

I have found that insurance, in general, has dropped considerably in price this year.

My mrs car insurance gone from £650 to £280 from next month.

My van (2 drivers, 9 points, 3 years NCD) from £1650 to £900 from March.

A few weeks back the media were reporting that insurance for females was set to rise by up to 100% because of new laws making it illegal to offer them cheaper quotes than men. As usual the media appear to have gotten it wrong.

£707 sounds a lot. I paid £515 for a £5.5k Boxer with ONE year no claims. £500 excess though. Vanquotedirect.

Yes, but I still thought it was steep because of my poor no claims. But, no van replacement or equipment cover and the excess is high on mine. Still.....

I'm with Swann at the moment and it's an Ionics vehicle they supply if there is a claim as most lads know. I'd have to go to Swindon to collect, but its not that far from West Wales. Who supplies the A Plan van (what is it and what system).

A plan do replacement vans and they are ionics , I got cheaper insurance through them because my system was fitted by ionics .

I have replacment van with A-Plan had the cover for over a year now .

Also got to agree about comparing insurance as we all live in different parts of the country, I recently moved to a different postcode area and my insurance increased by £100 as i moved to a town from a sleepy village with virtually zero crime rate .

But yes great insurance from A-Plan . Mike
