I think I will take back what I was saying about older vans being better for me as opposed to paying monthly on a new one.

Got my 05 Combo mot'd last week for £420 ish which was a bargain due to front suspension being totally replaced.

Just on last job yesterday and engine starts to make a noise like a pulley loose and slapping against side of engine so lift bonnet and cant see owt wrong so gets it to mates garage late last night.

Turns out oil pump pully is f***ed which aint too expensive and a common fault but may need a new oil pump which is a lot more then new cambelt kit etc etc oh and if oil pump needs replacing its a bit of a big job as lots of bits have to come off.

I have a spare credit card and fighting urge to go stick a 1 year old Peugeot bipper on it at the moment.

Another days wages lost today only saving grace it would not have been a high earning day today .

if you are thinking of chopping it in id go bigger ,then you can have a second worker aboard,you will need it soon enough .   if was you Ian being wfp ,id get a pug expert with a 1.9 nonturbo for under a grand ,pretty much bombproof  although slow then again less chance of a speeding ticket so actually a bonus being a tortoise van

being on 9 points spped not an issue these days ...

im not a speeding looney btw but went to court to defend a speeding ticket as turned down offer of a fixed pen and the copper lied in the witness box so when I called her a liar the 3 magistrates were not impressed particularly as i swore at her as well ... ooopss .... good news though didnt get done for contempt as well

i have one of these cost me a £1300 in over a year thats with the price of the van. its the best van imo my mate had a vararo and thats cost loads non turbo no ecu etc etc no duel mass clutch fly etc absolute stunner and i shall be getting another on the expand no posh finance crap for me guys

They lie as a matter of course. A friend of a friend got off a ticket in court once when a policeman was giving evidence whilst chewing. The barrister said to the policeman "are you chewing?" and the thick git said no. Not guilty as the policeman lied unde oath.

needed new oil pump as old one shagged and all grunchy and about to seize so lucky really as if gone on motorway be needing engine ... glass half full

think I will be getting new van before too long though ... well maybe pre reg ... fancy new Partner 850 as maybe the bipper little too small but still cracking van for 1 man operator with say a 300 litre tank in it.
