Van Breakdown Cover
«
on:

I have just been quoted £122 for my annual premium for breakdown cover with RAC on my Fiat Scudo (4 yrs old). The cover includes roadside recovery and homestart. I called them up to ask if they could do me a better price (loyalty and no callouts in several years etc etc) but they sain no it was a fixed price. There must be some cheaper quotes out there surely???

Also the RAC can be a bit arsey if you don't mention you drive a "commercial vehicle" for business use.
Because they want you to take out business cover.

AA don't mention it on their website.

This is confusing mate
- I've just dug out my policy - I renewed it 12 Aug 2012 , level of cover is 'rescue' and price is £28.29 + insurance tax @£1.70 = £29.99
It was thru a comparison site tho - ill search back and find out which one

I paid 73 in july to RAC , got ignition barrel fixed in slough , towed back from Glasgow and 3 days car hire, car brought back from Bournemouth and another 3 days car hire. Got a letter saying £85 call out until next July, so I just joined the AA for £40.

with green flag. one downer is if you have a prang they wont get you home even if you have Recovery which i do ,, i found that out to my great cost although to give them their due they let me off the last 5 miles when technically i was over the distance into an even higher bracket of tow home charge

I have RAC small business cover, 4 people covered, this includes onward home start relay back also hotel. But it is far more than you guys are paying, just under £300 last year.

I've just had the RAC phone me up for renewal.
Was going to renew breakdown cover for my van and wife's car.
They flat out refused to cover my Berlingo van on the same policy and wanted me to take out the Business Use cover.
