anyone employ there own canvasser?
« on: October 18, 2012, 06:36:53 pm »
this ones for those that have or do ?

im looking to get a full time canvasser to help grow us on.
not intersted in using a service , and would like to establish my own team to do this for us.

i want to employ on the basis that if he/she is upto standard and the percentages are correct the initial employee will take over that side and recruit the
rest of that team. ( eagerly watched btw)

so for the bigger cleaning co's on here ( no disrespect intended) if anyone does use this practice or has any advice on this i really am all ears. ;)

ive just stopped my leaflets as i am stretched at the moment ( i blew my kneecap on tuesday and on crutches, booked in for meeting with surgeon next tuesday)
thats the reason every one who can SHOULD EMPLOY.

looking to get another van on the road and keep us growing.

i really wanna maximise my A3 triples so am deffo gonna go the door sales route.
at £90 per 1k delivered inc leaflet they are expensive to mass use.
saying that i have put out about 40k in last 6 months and generated a few quid lol

Hi Carl

I totally agree with employing, I am going into hospital in just over 2 weeks and I will not be able to clean for a minimum of 6 months or even longer.

Dropping leaflets generates work but its a slow process and when you are expanding, slow is not reall what you want, thats why I am going back to my door canvassing days and taking on my own sales team.

Pay wise is a mixture of basic, commission and bonuses, at the moment he gets paid £15 per thousand leaflets dropped and £10 commission on any sales, this will continue and for each job he gets will pa him £10.

This is payable on all jobs from my minimum charge of £12 upto a £25 property, any jobs that he gets that are over £26 then he get half of the cleaning charge, so if he gets a £40 job he gets £20 in commission.

He is also paid a retainer of £60 per week.

The first 6 sales or £60 per month in cleaning charges are not paid any commission, so he has a target of 6 sales to reach before he can start to earn commission or bonuses.

to be honest the internet enquiries are only coupled with a leaflet drop 99.9 times out of 100.
and if they are directly looking for us they will wait a few secs the first time as it is a new site for them also.
thats why its picture packed etc as once you get them there you need to visually sell yourself.
bit like ebay really , more info and pics = better sales/return.

Hi Carl

I just had a look at your website, very impressive.

Who did the website for you, if you don't mind me asking?
