Adding more membranes
« on: October 04, 2012, 05:20:59 pm »
maybe a daft question, but is it possible to just keep adding membranes to speed up the production of water. i have a 300gpd ro unit is it just simply add more 100gpd membranes to speed up the process.

Anyone done this

thanks
paul

if you got 3membraines,then put new 150gpd in each gives you a 450gpd ;)

the problem with adding more,is that pressure will drop so you then need booster

Thanks for reply
It has a booster pump already so pressure not an issue, will the bigger membranes fit in the 100gpd housing
Thanks

Hi yes will fit . Just upgraded mine to 150s from 100s makes a lot of difference
To production speed especially with a booster pump.     Regards Neil

You need to change the restrictor in the waste pipe if you do this.

The restrictor for 150gpd membranes is different than one for 100gpd membranes.

Do you have to get a bigger one then craig, I did wonder about that

restrictors are matched to the membrane output capacity.
they are not larger in size externally, just restriction level is different.

can get them from most good suppliers, heres a couple........
