and they declined my £60 quote, which was fair enough as he was a young lad, who has been left the house by his departed mother. I collected the window money tonight and said I see you got it done then, how long did it take you? two days was his answer with neat bleach and a power washer ;D still doesn't look that great

How big was the conny ? £60 is a lot for just roof but you are lacking details so maybe was worth that .

not that big and to a decent customer it would have been £40, but on the north side of building so it gets no sun so 10 years of moss to remove, but the fact it took him two days to clean cheered me as £60 doesn't sound that bad when you think of it

yeah agree now £60 was maybe a decent price , i usually charge £7 per roof section and many times ive thought way over the top , but over the last few months ive had a good few to do , i spend on average 2 hours doing the roof some are just solid graft , others are a walk in the park .

£30 is my starting price for conny roofs , I price them not only on size but how dirty they are as every one is different . Mike

I quoted a full conny clean a couple of weeks ago. 14 roof panels, 14 windows, 14 top windows/openers, 2 patio doors and all gutters, downpipes and finials. I reckoned 3/4 hours work. I quoted £100 and he nearly dropped to the floor in shock. He asked me to do it for £50; I knew he was a taxi driver so asked him how often he reduced the price on his meter when asked by a.fare - 'never' was the answer.he gave. I told him it wasn't a negotiation as I always quote what I consider to be a fair price.for the work involved. I do an excellent job and the results speak for themselves. I thought it was keenly priced/ on the cheap side but just shows how far a custys expectations can be from reality.

He still hasn't had it done.

Choose your price and stick to it if he dont have it done then thats up to him.

If you keep getting nos then that would say yout to exspensive.

I quoted a large conservatory in and out £80 this week i know it was cheap and they said yes straight away without any furthur quotes.
If will take me a afternoon to do it and filled a free slot so im happy to do it.
Fair price means u get work
To exspensive means u wont
