sorry thats me being an idiot! that is the male in the link that screws onto the flow through spindle.(yes it is hozelock size)

you were talking about the female werent you. i have had b&q own brand female end stop and they were crap. either buy the brass one to match the male or genuine hozelock should be ok.

As Cleancare said you really need a swivel elbow: http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/hozelock-type-brass-hose-reel-fitting-swivel-elbow.html

and I recently bought some of these hose end connectors from B&Q:  http://www.diy.com/nav/garden/garden-care-watering/watering-irrigation/sprinklers___hoses/-specificproducttype-connectors/Verve-Hose-End-Connector-11327535?skuId=11838241

and they seem ok. Horrible colour but they do the job and are much better than the 99p B&Q own brand ones and even some of the genuine Hozelock ones.
