« on: September 05, 2012, 11:24:09 pm »
Hi guys.  I have been contacted by a truckmount company in the US.  They have asked if i would considor importing their machines.  Anyone got any idea of what the import costs would be?  Never done this before so have no idea.

Don't hold me to it but I seem to recall a figure of 1.7%.
Bear in mind that import duty is charged on not only the machinery but also the cost of freight and insurance - then of course you have the VAT on top but that you will be able to reclaim if you're registered

Richie the duty is irrelevant its the shipping costs which are the killer. plus you need to have the machines C E Certified which is an absolute pain and costly.
