Out Come The Ladders
« on: August 30, 2012, 09:42:35 pm »
I'm currently working on a big collage near me, and I've been polling it like a mad man trying to get it clean.. it's a two year old building and the windows are in good nick, but there is a problem, some dimwit manufacture has made the windows anti-wfp by installing sponge sills. So tomorrow the ladders are coming off.

it's been driving me crackers..

Rather than using rubber water tight sills, they have used sponge to hold the glass in place..

The sponge holds a lot of dirt, and would need about ten cleans.

i found that turning my pump to max and giving a real good rinse helped ,used a lot of water

I cleaned them 3 times on full blast.. scrubbed the top edge to death.. rinsed every inch..

Thing is I don't have time to keep messing about. Just going to squeegee them. I still have a bit left of a school next door which needs to be done before the kids return.

As much as I'd like to poll them, it just isn't the right tool for the job. It would be much quicker to trad it.

Personally I wouldn't touch the job and write and explain the problem with full references to Health and Safety with ladders.
Easy said Iff you don't need the work.
I don't mind work.....It's hastle I can do without.
