hi chaps.  had a big problem with my extreme 25 pole today.  i notice the bottom pole had been slipping a lot, and no matter how hard i tightened the bottom clamp it was still spinning round.  so i noticed that underneath the second clamp the glue or whatever it was can come completely undone, so the second clamp is independent from the shaft and able to move freely.  i have taken the bottom shaft off now and seen that the two pieces of tape that were on the very bottom of the second shaft had become rotted and not flush.

i cant seem to get the poles back togetehr and working now. they are really stiff and not sitting into ech other properly.  have a look at the photos and can someone please let me know what the problem is and how to fix it please.  thanks.  p.s i have bought a roll of electrical tape but its a lot wider than the stuff i ripped off today

the first photo is the second from bottom section, the second photo is the bottom section.  its the pole in the first photo where the clamp is not 'stuck' to the pole anymore

Hi G.Brookes

Looks like you have two issues here. Needing to replace the Joint-Stop tape (which is a good idea to do every so often) and the other is gluing back on the clamp that has come off. We can have this pole back and carry this out for you under warranty if you would like or alternatively it may be quicker for you to carry out these repairs yourself.

To re-fit the joint stop tape follow the steps in this video - http://youtu.be/KtXwzxNetNE

To glue back on the clamp follow the steps in this video - http://youtu.be/PysvFrQYUUc

Any other question please feel free to email me on alex@agardiner.co.uk
