New transfer pump stopped
« on: August 14, 2012, 07:28:33 pm »
Just bought from a ebay a silverline 400w submersible pump to transfer water from my 250ltr tank to 25ltr containers. I filled 4 containers and then it stopped working.
Has anyone else had this problem?
I cant call the company until tomorrow.

Does it have a float to cut it off when the water level drops?

Have you got power to the pump. Is the fuse in the sub pump not blown? Also if you are linking this to a cable drum, is there a reset button on the drum and also check the plug fuse at the end of the cable drum. If you are using an RCD then check the reset button on that.

Can you take the sub pump out and try it in another plug for a second that you know works?

Yup tried fuse and socket but still no good. It has got a float on it and I dont think that was a problem but I will check it again.

Started again and then stopped. The company are replacing it tomorrow as they think there is a fault with the float.
Thanks for your replies.
