Cheers mate, yes it transformed it from what was already a tidy looking, although plain van. No air con on this, would have been nice but was lower down on the check list unfortunately. Lucky you! I havent got speed control either.....

As for the chipping, I do the exact same run, every day, up until recently with exactly the same amount of weight and speed. Always running out at max weight, or just over payload, returning 350kg lighter. 20 minutes of 70 mph motorway, and 18 mins of well moving A road. I have had plenty of opportunity to test it out before and after chipping. A bloke called Phil from ecopower-remaps in doncaster came down and did mine, £200 per car. I wanted an eco tune on the van, as I do about 450 miles per week. Due to the flywheel judder i cant put my foot right down in low gears, but I can categoricallly state that MPG hasn't changed. However, the performance certainly has, i can only imagine what the performance remap would give. It wasnt a bad van anway, and pulled well even in low revs before. I got 150 quid back, he thinks its due to the flywheel being on its way out, or possibly due to running at full weight (tho figures havent improved when empty (still nearly half payload due to equipment)). Only thing i would say to get accurate MPG is to fill up and check mileage, as both VWs ive had were 10% optimistic.
A local garage to me says they normally get very good mpg gains with their eco remaps on the VW's, so after xmas if can afford might give them a try out, they all offer money back if not happy anyway. Driveshaft first, then clutch. Then if im allowed bull bar and spots. Then another remap! lol...... thats why im selling my motorbike!
However, as a side point, this Phil also remapped a 208 Mitsubishi Outlander 2.2 for me, with their performance/eco remap, boosting it from 155bhp to about 185. This goes noticeably quicker also, yet i have now got gains of up to 20% on fuel, with mpg going from 31MPG if driving hard, to 37MPG, and if driving gently best i could get was 35/36MPG, now can get up to 44MPG. So certain maps, for certain cars can certainly improve economy, or, at very least, improve power and not loose economy.
