I always charge extra on 1st cleans and it's only around £10 extra or double the monthly charge.

Well I have just had a call from a lady who wants her windows cleaned again, they were done 1 year ago.

she wants a deep clean which is what i do anyway on 1st cleans, and maybe a monthly clean thereafter yeh right

So I give her my price of £100 for a normal house.

anyway her last window cleaner was there all day last year and charged her £40 and could I beat it I said, for what she has decribed it should only take a couple of hours and I am willing to accept £100 for the job, But if she want a complete clean she is on about, then I am willing to bill her at £40 per hour and spend 8 hours there at £40 per hour

Love it!  You could try Ian's line which is...  Your first clean will be £100, if you then have us every month your price goes down to £15...

What do you mean by a "deep clean"?

Deep cleaning is a phrase used in the cleaning industry for a very through clean.Much more than a maintenance clean.it might be a good sales word to use in place of a first clean this would make the customer thing what would that be they will not always ash but then we should clarify the term and this should make the customer happy to know you charge more but they get more on a (first) deep clean.

Thats how I play it, it all comes down to words and how you use them especially if you have high charges or the cost is on the high side, I never just give a price and thats it, I will list out idiviually what I will be doing thereby making the price more acceptable and even a bargain.

I use to do it 30 years ago when I would price up carpet cleaning for a very expensive company I worked for, if I just meausured the room and quoted the price most of the customers would have been horrified by the price, but when I would list the different services we would be doing to their carpets and writing this down on the quotation form, they could then see in black and white that they are getting that bit extra which makes the price quoted more acceptable and them more likely to say yes.
