Frothy hose?!!
« on: July 18, 2012, 07:53:56 pm »
Hey guys. Just had a 100m micro bore hose delivered cos old one wore out after 3 1/2 years, connected up and when I went to use it with brush attached to check there were no leaks, and the brush head was frothing up on the glass. Weird. ~ so I rinsed the hose through with the outside tap at pressure for 1/2 hour and tried it again. Same frothy water. Its almost like there is a detergent mixing in the hose, there is like a scummy surface on top of the water when I poured it into a clean glass. The water is 0 tds tho as well  :-\ did first house with it same froth for the first 1/4 hour and when I pack away and start the next house - same again. rinsed and rinsed but doesn't appear to be leaving marks on the glass. {no complaints yet but it was yesterday}
Any ideas or experiences like this?
Got it from brodex {please don't attack them as Ive got good experience with them} phoned them up and said they would make some investigations with Saun and ring back tomorrow….very strange.
Cheers all.

Im not scared of heights, just falling from them.

Since the weekend, I've replaced one of my hoses and it's frothing like a mad 'un.  It'll die down.

As has been said it could be air in the hose as the pump tries to "fill"the bore of the hose. One way to get around this would be to syphon through it.
Drop one end of the hose into your tank and suck on the other end like you were nicking petrol from a car ;D.  you will want the reel lower such as on the floor. If you can get it to flow freely like this then the air should go. Another way would be to run mains pressure through it. After full flow from the mains hold the end and connect to your van pump then get rid of the tap water. The mains will clear any air that the pump wont due to the much greater flow of water.
