I got to my first job today on a new idustria estate in Oldbury, the place has 20 units and I have so far got 1, I picked it up on my network circuit in january, they were unhappy with the clean from their previous cleaner who also dows the rest of them.
When I first cleaned them they were minging, I would say they had never been done but dave said they had last been done a month ago
Anyway I have turned up every month and cleaned them and now they are like new again, the customer is well happy, anyway today a guy came over and asked for some help, he had a wfp system in his van and it wouldn't work.
so like the charming, helpful guy I am,

I went over to have a look, turned one pump on, it had 2 but the other one was broken

water was going into the pump and coming out ok, it was then fed to the 25 Litre DI bottle and thats where it stayed until it built up enough pressure and off shot the connector. 8-)
A quick change of the connectors and a few jubilee clips later (air lock i suspect) and the system is working normally.
anyway I now give the system (and I say this in the loosest terms possible) a once over, I asked him what his tds are at home, he hadn't a clue what a tds was, and if you don't know what they are why would you want a tds meter.
So I get mine out  and checked the water coming out of his water tank, this had a lovely reading of 174

so I then checked what the reading was coming out of the DI bottle and this read 296
Now I have never even heard of those sort of readings before, he has been using this system for over a year and the resin has never been changed in that time.
I then looked at his pole, the last time I saw something like that, it was supporting telephone wires

so I showed him my slx35 and then to rub it in I showed him my SL2
The next thing to grap my attention was the water tank, this was placed and bolted on a metal rack, that looked just like a pallet, the pallet was just bolted to the bulkhead  and it had no baffles.
The final joy was he can never fill tank full because he exceeds the weight limit on the van, he also mentioned that the complete braking system has been replaced twice in the last 12 months.
So the next time you want to see a cowboy, forget the single operator who turns up with "trigger" instead look at some of the big companies who give their staff dangerous equipment.
