You should get several methods from several people on here.
Mine would be take outside and hose through until you can be sure that you have washed the urine out. Let it drip until that basically stops. Mix up a clensan mixture or some other odour control mixture and soak again. Leave it to drip dry or even place in plastic bag to work for 24 hours then dry.
Time consuming but remember you didn't cause the problem and if they want it doing properly then that will solve it.

If it's make or brake. They could fold the sponge and put it in the wash.

I had a similar call once, tbh I didn't want to know it as I know how hard it would be to remove the smell satisfactorily.

Otherwise as you say tel them get new sponge made.

Take the foam out and put it in a decent quality black bin bag screw the opening up so it makes a hole and then put your vac hose in the hole switch extractor on it will retrieve moisture then apply urine contamination treatment to foam allow dwell and then do bin bag trick again, foam must be dry before replacing.

a new cushion  cost £45,  might be best to  just replace rather than risk call backs

Get em to check their credit rating and send em down to DFS. Failing that get em on a maintenance plan £10 per month ;D

I've heard that human urine neutralises animal urine.

Yes, orginse to get new foam made to size for the client. Add something to the bill to cover your time.

I got a job like that 2 weeks ago.
Boyfriend ped up used sofa as toilet.
Put the 2 contaminated covers in the wash
and then put the others in after they'd been
done and came out lovely. Cleaned the rest
and then ordered her 2 new foam inserts.
They were quite big and came to £70 in total.

That's where I first saw it too and about the same time ago. Where did you do that course? Perhaps we were on the same one.
