TVCS,
your LA is local authority.

worcester city council should be able to provide you will details regarding;
small- medium business development  grant.
they are available in most LA's but are kept hush! hush!.  each LA has a certain amount available for an eligible project.
for start-ups and existing businesses.

learn direct also help! 0800 100 900,
they can identify the appropriate training available to suit your needs.  your needs will be identified and full details made available to you with regard to course location, cost and duration.
you can also discuss with learn direct any funding towards training that you may be eligible for in discussing your particular circumstances.

the welsh development agency help those in wales.
www.wda.co.uk

the job centre, has new deal.
you can take on a person and they pay you around £75 for full-time or £50 for part-time for 6 months.
this is a good option as you can take on someone on a temporary employment contract to see if they are good, honest & reliable.

google;  start-up grant for businesses in--------------------(your area)
they are out there, just keep searching, ask every dept you speak to and they will list a few more.

good luck

There should also be a local enterprise agency who provide a great deal of help to businesses under 18 months. My local agency also offer many courses with very little or no cost in subjects such as marketing, effective advertising, bookeeping, VAT and host of other essential requirements for start-up businesses.

I have recently attended some and found them all worthwhile and also gives you an opportunity to network with other businesses and they can help with raising finance as well. You can never know too much.

Regards Paul

I would advise you to contact The Prince's Trust.   They gave me £2500 grand and £2500 loan when I started my business, but I had to write the business plan.
Good luck,
Arthur
