or book your van in for its mot on a weekend when not working and as soon as you can legally renew it ( not last minute ) incase it needs work to get it through ( worth having a contingency fund in the bank for this if needed )

not that I listen to my own advice in the slightest, I'm too stupid and disorganised  ;D

if its in for mot and fails, even though you have some old mot left, it is classed as unroadworthy,  i know thats a bit pedantic but still technically right, also old mot doesnt count once its gone for a test and failed even if still in date,

Apart from a couple minor problems which have now been fixed, it has passed and now have it sat back on my driveway.

The bad news is that a bearing has gone in my gearbox, but the mechanic has a spare gearbox apparently so told me not to worry.

Its put a bit of a downer on me, as opposed to yesterday when I was full of joy after collecting van from sign writters.

Not gonna let it annoy me to much for now, as its my birthday tomorrow and want to enjoy that  8)

Call me cynical or what, but that is a coincidence isn't it?

Knowing what I know about the motor trade, I would get a second opinion.

Personally I cant understand the mechanics 'interest' in the gearbox, when all he was doing was an mot?    o

Or in other words

What the eff has the gearbox got to do with the mot ;D

one evening after work, I didn't connect my hose to the R O properly.....I was shocked in the morning :o thankfully I had enough in the tank to fill 6 25 ltr barrels and a backpack..... so I went out with the barrels and the backpack in my car, and plugged in the ro to fill while I was out in the car....
I managed £120 in the car with the barrels......came home by which time my tanf was 1/4 full , and then went out and did more in the van....
so a backpack is a valuable tool ;D
I always keep at least 6 barrels in the garage full of pure water ;D
