Minitex owners
« on: June 05, 2012, 09:35:58 pm »
Hi

Just wanted to know how the various brushes and bonnets attached to this machine?
I have a rotary machine i use for polishing auto paintwork which would work great if i could attach the minitex pads etc...

I used to have one but got rid some years ago, but from memory the drive plate and it's grippers are a miniture of the full size rotary other than the drive plate is fixed to the machine so isn't interchangable.

The bit that holds pads/bonnets is not permanently fixed.  The machine has a permanently fixed drive plate covered in velcro (the stiff "hook" half of velcro). The bonnet/pad mounting board and also each other attachment are velcro covered (corresponding "loop" material of velcro) and also have a stud on them which locates into a hole in the drive plate on the machine.

Not sure a car polisher would be any good as it would need to be only 300rpm or so, and have plenty of torque (not how they are designed).  Just get a minitex, much better.
