Resin life
« on: May 17, 2012, 06:02:41 pm »
How long roughly should my resin last?
Im using DI only, with tap water coming in at 060. Roughly use 250 litres a day, 5 days a week.

Will the resin start to deteroiate, or simply stop working?

Wheres best to buy resin?

Cheers

It depends on how big your di vessel is mate? Maybe a couple weeks with a 11ltr vessel. It will deteriorate slowly. You would be better off getting another di off ebay and putting fresh resin in that and then connect it after your first di after your tds level starts to rise (hope that makes sense). Other wise you will be chucking away resin that still has purifying ability. The resin i use is tulsion 115. Hope that helps mate

You want TWO 11ltr vessels & Tulsion MB115 resin for maximum efficiency. This could double your resin life. ;)

It will go off slowly, some go off quicker than others but you'll get some warning. The slower the flow through the vessel the longer the resin will last, so best to have them on the van to pump through & fill tank with tap water. ;)

I use 2 x 11ltr di,s, tap water reads 90 , 300 ltrs 5 day week, second di lasts 4 weeks before it starts to rise, i then put second di in first place and put fresh resin in the first di and put it in second place, then i get another 4 weeks work.
I started out with nothing......I still have most of it.

lol behave  my tap water is 36 so not that much lower & my resin in an 11ltr vessel lasts  3 month at 1500 ltrs a week
2 vessels makes it last even longer

yes thats right, ive no option because i dont have room for an ro setup, resin works out at £70 a bag so over 2mths it works out about £1 a day cost, i can live with that.

But that doesn't take into account resin brand or twin vessels. ;)

Im lucky my 4040 output can be as low as 002 but normally 005 so my little 7ltr vessel lasts for ages.

I check its output every time I fill my static and if it hits 001 I give it a good shake and may get another few days of 000 from it.

Think I change my resin 3 or 4 times a year.
