GB Window Cleaning

scratched u.p.v.c

 ;D... so today some old dude one of my custys started moaning about my brush (gardiners sl exreme normal) scratching his plastic sills  ??? what do you recon?

i said nah its cant happen it must have been their before! but since then ive been checking and alot of my jobs look like they have light scratches?? oh well their not bad anyway

any opinions welcome?

yep it happens if any complain a nice tub of astonish does the trick
quick wipe over and they are gone :)

Its very easy to scratch a sill when your brushing sills with an extreme brush esp if your forced to stand close to the window due to fence etc being in the way.get a radius sill brush mate and you wont get anymore problems.

what it is GB next time your cleaning a sill at an awkward angle(or any angle!) with the extreme just look how close the stock of the brush is to the sill.its just so easy to rub the sill with the stock of the brush which can scratch it.

i dont have this problem with the sill brush.i use a medium dual trim mate but we all prefer different brushes.

dazmond is right, it is very easy to scratch the sills when cleaning BUT you can just as easily train yourself not to do so.

the gardiner sill brush definitely helps, but if you are scratching the sills you will hear the brush stock hit the window, and you can hear it scrape along the sil also.

once you are aware of the problem it is easy enough to eliminate from your cleaning technique.  just stop short of letting the brush stock hit the window.

and yes you can clean the dirt out of the scratches with a PVC cleaner.

Hi all
Ito have had this in my past but dont do it now as i have re trained the way i clean.
If you clean the very thin section of upvc underneath the glass just above the sill with your brush side onto it you will almost every time scratch it.teach yourself to clean this section with brush horizontal and better still with a sill brush,this will stop it.
Anywhere your plastic part of the brush comes into contact with the window or glass you are likely to scratch them.

thought id try a soft bristled dual trim as apposed to the flat trim medium bristles ive been using for about a year. whats the difference lads?
