my own trailer system
« on: May 06, 2012, 04:42:31 pm »
I have been thinking for a while now about moving on from my backpack set up to my own trailer set up. I have a trailer in the garage , and my thoughts are this. I will fit inside it a 250 litre water container , to that I will need to add  a pump . I will also attatch inside a 100m hose reel set up and thats basically it. The water will be purified inside my garden shed and I will transfer 25 litre barrels over to the garage to fill up the water container ( the garage is not attatched to my house but only 20 metres away) I would appreciate it if anyone with experience can let me know what kind of pump I would need and further more if the set up is not a good idea could you put me right , many thanks Ted

I transfered a backpack into a van mount set up, why not strip it down and use the parts from the backpack?

as above any pump like taht will do you, if you buy a decent pump like that one you wont go far wrong and they are well up for the job 65 or 100 psi in my experience both will work through 100 meters of microbore, my advice would be keep the backpack as well strapped to a sack barrow or however you are currently using it, trust me i bet you will use it at least once everyday :-) my pump is a flowjet 65 psi and its the only pump i have ever had, never had a problem with it and i spill water over it everday lol

Why would you go to the trouble of filling 25 ltr containers to transfer water into tank when you can get a transfer pump or submersible pump . Put 20 mtrs of garden hose on outlet end and pump water into trailer tank .  Mike

agree , go to b&q and get a roll of blue flat flat hose and make your life easier costs about £25
