Have you tried adjusting the pressure switch yet. It is the first thing I would do. I have an Aquatec pump and it pushes water through 100m of 8mm hose no probs.

Ive tried 

Ive tried allen key size 1.5... too small
Ive tried allen key size 2...too big.

You are better off buying a leisure battery to run your pump and putting a split charge relay between your van battery and your leisure battery, so you can charge your leisure battery from you alternator. You must remember your van battery is not designed to run at a constant current without your van running, it is designed to start your vehicle and then your alternator takes over, a leisure battery is designed to run at a constant current.

you do not need a flow controller, or new battery or anything else, just get an allen key that fits, turn the system on and let the water flow and turn the key until it flows without cutting out, that easy, anti clockwise should do it

deffo pressure switch i use 5mm id hose and i never have a problem just check there are no kinks and wind the pressure switch up

Don't most guys who don't use a controller have a bypass system fitted instead? I've always used a controller myself.
Otherwise your pump will run flat out all the time on maximum flow.

It will still run flat out if you use a by-pass and no controller.

It will but not on the glass and no need for the pressure switch to stop the pump.
