pressure sprayer
« on: May 03, 2012, 08:21:21 pm »
what is the best preesure sprayer for applying tfr to gutters to be cleaned .

I used to PF trolley with tfr in spare container and clean with my usual wfp set up. but now i have tank fitted and no trolley looking for sprayer.

Thought about using a container. with tfr and connecting to pump box but not so sure about pumping through 120 mtrs of hose as it will take a while to flush out.

got a gutter clean over a big conny next week but dont want not to be able not to clean it properly.  Mike

Pressure sprayers are useful but they don't always work well on a windy day.
I use a Hoselock 7 ltr sprayer from b&q.
The other alternative is to use a backpack or what I would do is apply tfr straight on the brush neat.

Get a 5L sprayer from B&Q or Argos are doing them at £10 at the moment.

This is where it gets interesting ...

Cut the lance in  that comes with it around 3 inches from the sprayer end (its the plastic tube you want to cut. Then get how ever many metres of 8mm pole hose (b&q) depending on how long your pole is. Get some hot water, dip the end of the pole hose in the hot water to soften it up and push each end of the pole hose onto the lance to connect the two pieces together with the pole hose in the middle.

This will give you a pressure sprayer that you can just velcro the sprayer end onto the top of the pole.

There you have a chemical sprayer for less than £20 (as prices stand at the moment)

Heres one i attatched to an 18ft hydra before i got rid of it. Dont forget to secure the hose to the lance with a jubilee clip or similar

I've got a similar pressure sprayer, if you adjust the jet you can get a needle jet which has reached all the finials & detailing on conservatories without any problem.

For fascias, soffits and gutters I've got a long bristled flocked brush on the end of a harris pole - which I dip in a bucket of TFR solution and brush all round the guttering - it can also clean all round the brackets and up the back of the guttering. By the time I've pre-soaped up a lenngth of guttering it's time to swap to WFP, with old brush & needle jets, and give the area a quick brush over & rinse - job done
