is there a method to holding the pole?
« on: April 17, 2012, 10:42:43 pm »
hi guys

I am about to start wfp after 3 years trad, i did not want spend lots on my first pole so i went for a starter pole, a 30ft xtel fiber glass pole, tyhe reason for the size was becaues im being asked alot if i can do three storey windows, i have about 10 jobs lined up, not many people with a pole round by me, most are trad.
Anyway i gave it a go today on my own place and it felt a bit heavy, is this somthing i will get used to or have i just brought a dung pole? is there a method?

Cheers  guys

tbh you would have been better off with a clx 27 foot as this reaches all but very few 3 storey houses, but you have the pole now so shame to waste it, I started out with xtel poles they are a little heavy and bendy but you will get used to it trust me.

You the bend in the pole to your advantage, get a light brush on the end vikans are like bricks so I would recommend a brush from gardinerpolesystems this will help you out with your heavy pole no end.

hand over the top and hand at the bottom, do not stand close to the windwos as you will give yourself neck ache very quickly.

Let the pole do the work and not your body.

Hope that helps a little.

Ian

p.s stick with it, it is easy to quit like many others  ;)
